Claude Joseph Vernet was a French painter known for his landscapes and marine paintings. Vernet's style incorporated realistic depictions of nature and light, and he was highly skilled at capturing the effects of light and atmosphere in his paintings. He was also known for his vivid depictions of storms and other natural phenomena. In addition to his landscapes and seascapes, Vernet also painted portraits and historical scenes.
