Isaak Brodsky
1884-1939Biography
Isaak Brodsky was a Russian painter, teacher, and art administrator. He studied at the Imperial Academy of Arts in Saint Petersburg, and later became a professor at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture, and Architecture. Brodsky was a prominent member of the Association of Artists of Revolutionary Russia, and his work often depicted scenes from the Soviet Union's early years. He also worked as an administrator, serving as the director of the Tretyakov Gallery and the head of the Russian Academy of Arts. Brodsky was awarded the title of People's Artist of the USSR in 1934. He died in Moscow in 1939.
