Yakov Romas was a Russian painter and graphic artist known for his landscape paintings and portraits. He studied at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture under Konstantin Korovin and Alexander Arkhipov. Romas became a member of the Society of Moscow Artists in 1924 and exhibited his works throughout the Soviet Union. He specialized in landscapes, still lifes, and portraits, and his style combined elements of post-impressionism and modernism.
