Vladimir Ovchinnikov was a Russian painter and illustrator, known for his genre scenes and portraits. He studied at the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts and became a member of the Union of Russian Artists in 1903. Ovchinnikov taught at the Higher Art School in Moscow from 1911 to 1918, and later worked as a book illustrator. He was awarded the title of People's Artist of the RSFSR in 1936.
