Boris Sveshnikov was a Russian artist, known for his paintings, graphic works, and illustrations. He was born on August 3, 1927, in Moscow, Russia, and studied at the Moscow State Art Institute named after V.I. Surikov from 1947 to 1953. Sveshnikov was a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR and participated in many exhibitions both in Russia and abroad. His works are characterized by a poetic, dreamlike quality, often featuring landscapes, still lifes, and portraits. He was also known for his illustrations for books and magazines, including works by Alexander Pushkin, Nikolai Gogol, and Ivan Turgenev. Sveshnikov died on January 8, 1998, in Moscow, Russia, at the age of 70.
