Adalbert Erdeli was a Romanian painter and graphic artist born on August 12, 1890, in Cernăuți (now Chernivtsi, Ukraine). He was known for his surrealist and expressionist paintings, as well as his work in graphic design and book illustration. Erdeli studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and later became a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cluj-Napoca. His works were exhibited in galleries and museums throughout Romania and Europe, and he received numerous awards and honors for his contributions to art. Erdeli died on October 18, 1958, in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, but his legacy lives on through his influential and haunting paintings.
