Arkady Plastov

Arkady Plastov was a Russian painter and graphic artist known for his depictions of rural life and landscapes. He was born in the village of Prislonikha in the Tambov region of Russia. After studying at the Stroganov Moscow State Art and Industry Academy, Plastov began exhibiting in the 1920s and gained recognition for his depictions of peasant life in the Soviet Union. He is considered a leading figure of the Soviet Socialist Realist movement, and his works can be found in major collections in Russia and abroad.
