Boris Grigoriev

Boris Grigoriev was a Russian painter and graphic artist associated with the World of Art movement and the Russian avant-garde. He was born in Moscow and studied at the Stroganov Art School and the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. Grigoriev's work is known for its expressionistic style and use of vivid colours, and he often painted portraits, genre scenes, and landscapes. He was particularly interested in exploring the psychology of his subjects and conveying their emotions and inner states through his paintings. Grigoriev also worked as a graphic artist, producing illustrations for books and magazines. In 1917, he emigrated to France and later settled in the United States, where he continued to paint until his death in 1939. Grigoriev's works are included in the collections of major museums around the world.
