Karl Rosen was a Russian painter and graphic artist of German-Jewish descent. He studied at the St. Petersburg Academy of Fine Arts under Ilya Repin and graduated with a gold medal in 1902. Rosen specialized in portraits, genre scenes, and landscapes, and his style was characterized by its realism and attention to detail. He was a member of the World of Art and the Union of Russian Artists, and his works were exhibited throughout Europe and the United States.
