Anatoly Zverev was a Russian painter and graphic artist associated with the Nonconformist Art movement. He was born in Moscow and studied at the Moscow Art School and the Surikov Art Institute. Zverev's style was characterized by its expressive and often abstract forms, and he frequently used unconventional materials such as cardboard and paper bags for his works. Despite facing censorship and persecution from Soviet authorities, Zverev gained recognition in the West and was exhibited internationally.
