Nikolai Borisovich Terpsikhorov was a Russian painter and graphic artist born on March 20, 1890, in the city of St. Petersburg, Russia. He studied at the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts and became a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR in 1932. Terpsikhorov is known for his landscapes, portraits, and still-life paintings. He often used a muted colour palette, creating soft and poetic scenes. His works are characterized by their simple and concise forms, with a focus on the emotional content of the image. Terpsikhorov's style was influenced by the Impressionists, but he also incorporated elements of Russian folk art and Byzantine iconography into his works. Terpsikhorov's paintings can be found in several museums and private collections in Russia, including the State Russian Museum and the Tretyakov Gallery. He died on January 20, 1960, in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg), Russia.
