Biography

Serhii Vasylkivsky was a Ukrainian painter who is considered one of the founders of Ukrainian impressionism. He was born in the village of Kulykivka in the Kyiv region of Ukraine. He studied art in Kyiv, Munich, and Paris. Vasylkivsky was known for his landscapes and genre scenes, which often depicted Ukrainian village life. He was also an advocate for the Ukrainian national cause and was involved in the cultural and political life of Ukraine. Vasylkivsky died in Kyiv in 1917. His works can be found in museums and private collections in Ukraine and around the world.
