Konstantin Korovin was a Russian impressionist painter and stage designer. He studied at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, and later became a member of the Society of Travelling Art Exhibitions. He was particularly known for his paintings of urban and rural landscapes, and his works are characterized by their use of bright colours and impressionistic style. In addition to his paintings, Korovin designed sets and costumes for the Bolshoi and Mariinsky Theatres, and also worked on productions for the Paris Opera and Ballet. Today, his works are represented in many major art museums around the world.
